Studio Policies

Our staff work hard to provide the services we offer here at Arcadia. We ask that you please be kind to both the front of house and the piercers alike. The world is a tough place right now for everyone and Arcadia is meant to be a break from the chaos that can overwhelm daily life.

Every individual that works at Arcadia has been professionally trained on some level to do the job their doing. There is a zero tolerance policy for disrespect to the staff for any reason and if an incident occurs, you will be asked to immediately leave the studio.

All clients ages 18+ getting a piercing must present a physical, valid, government issued photo ID in order to receive the service requested. If you do not have this when you arrive for your appointment, we will not be able to pierce you.

Minors getting a piercing must be accompanied by their parent/legal guardian. Documents required are the minor’s birth certificate with the stamp/seal, as well as the parents valid, government issued photo ID with matching information. Additional documentation may be required if information on the birth certificate does not match the parent/legal guardian ID (i.e. marriage certificate, adoption paperwork, name change paperwork, etc). This is a law put forth by the Brookline Board of Health.

We cannot accept a photocopy of any of these documents.

We cannot accept temporary paper MA drivers permits.

We cannot accept military IDs as a form of identification.

Walk-ins for many piercings, jewelry changes, and downsizes are accepted Monday through Thursday from 12pm until 6pm and Friday through Sunday from 11am to 6pm.

There are days of the week where there is still only one piercer on so weekday walk-in availability may be somewhat limited. The earlier you arrive, the better!

Monday through Thursday, the studio will close for 30 minutes between 3pm and 4pm so the staff is able to eat lunch.

Due to the complexity and length of time that some piercings take, there are some services that are only offered by appointment. These services include septum piercings, tongue piercings, eyebrow piercings, paired nostril/matching an already existing nostril piercings, nipple piercings, and genital piercings.

Minor clients must book appointments through the website for all piercing services. However, since we do not need to do a full piercing release form for jewelry changes, minor clients can still come by as walk-ins for downsizes.

If you want to purchase jewelry but would rather put it in on your own, we can sell you pieces. For jewelry sales without a piercer’s assistance, jewelry must be sold in a sterilized package. If you bring the jewelry home and attempt to install it, it is not returnable. Jewelry is only allowed to be returned if it is still sealed in its sterile packaging. If the packaging is damaged or open in any way, we cannot accept the return.

Additionally, while we do our best to size jewelry for jewelry sales, we cannot guarantee that it will be the correct size if you choose not to have a piercer install your jewelry for you. If you purchase jewelry to install on your own without knowing the size you need and it does not fit, we are unable to accept a return of any kind for the piece.

We do our best to accommodate clients who arrive late but due to our to our busy schedule, if you are late to your appointment, there will be a late fee applied. If you have an appointment for piercings and are more than 5 minutes late, there will be a $5 late fee applied to the appointment. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late to your appointment, the appointment will need to be rescheduled and there is a $10 rescheduling fee applied.

If you arrive late to an appointment but we are still able to take you as a walk-in around other clients, there is a $10 late fee.

Fifteen minute jewelry change appointments that are more than 5 minutes late may be asked to wait around other clients or will be asked to reschedule. If you choose to reschedule, there is a $5 fee applied to your appointment. If it is for a fifteen minute appointment or a $10 fee if it is a thirty minute appointment.

Clients are able to reschedule their appointments through the confirmation email they received when booking. This can be done by the client up until 24 hours before the start of the appointment.

Piercing appointments that need to be rescheduled within 24 hours of the appointment time are subject to a $10 rescheduling fee, regardless of the appointment length. Rescheduling within 24 hours of the start of the appointment must be done by contacting the studio directly.

Jewelry change appointments for 1-3 piercings that need to be rescheduled within 24 hours of the appointment time are subject to a $5 rescheduling fee. Jewelry change appointments for 4-8 piercings that need to rescheduled within 24 hours of the appointment time are subject to a $10 rescheduling fee.
